Palm Springs

An easy 2 hour drive west of Los Angeles on CA60 brought us to Palm Springs in the Coachella Valley. The drive in takes you past what seems hundreds of wind turbines. Palm Springs is famous for being a celebrity retreat, home to retirees, 106 golf courses (!), having Sonny Bono as mayor and a(nother) gay mecca.

The economy relies heavily on tourism during the winter months, trust me, you wouldn't want to be here in the summer! On thursday nights they close a section of South Palm Canyon Drive for a night market selling arts and crafts and locally grown fruit and vegetables.

More than merely seeming to hundreds of wind turbines, there really are hundreds of wind turbines.
