Grand Canyon Tour

Thursday saw us up at an unnatural time of 5.30am (hey, we hadn't gotten up before 10 in the morning yet!) to await our stretch black limo to take us to our helicopter to fly out to the Grand Canyon.
In about an hour we had flown out of Las Vegas, over Lake Mead and Hoover Dam (which has enough concrete in it to pave a highway between San Francisco and New York!!) before we dropped over the rim of the Grand Canyon towards the Colorado river. We landed on the floor of the Grand Canyon where we took a 15 minute cruise on the River with "George", for whom English was a second language so we all missed a lot of what he had to tell us, but he seemed to be having fun and loved taking photos of all of us on the tour.

We then re-boarded the helicopter to fly back up the the top at the West Rim which is all Natvie American Reserve but they have built a few tourist spots to enjoy the views the Grand Canyon has to offer. One of these spots is the Skywalk which is a large steel semi-circle with a glass platform which you can walk out on to truly experience the height and views of the Grand Canyon.
After a leisurely lunch at the Guano Cafe (guano, yummy!!) and amazing views of the Canyon it was a smooth flying bee-line fly back to Las Vegas in the chippy-chopper with a fly over the strip on our return....
