American Football... NFL... Grid Iron...
Call it what you will, there is nothing about this game that makes sense. Two teams of about forty players with only ten from each team on the field at any time, the others subbing in and out every so often; wearing tight little bike pants, stockings, boots and the biggest shoulder pads you ever seen; in a game of four fifteen minute quarters that each take nearly an hour due to the number of times the clock stops (the coach asking for time out after only five seconds of play at times; in a stadium that holds over 73 000 FULL of screaming fanatical fans......
But hey, we were in town, got tickets from a scalper and were honorary Cleveland Browns supporters for the day and had a blast!! Who wouldn't sitting in the second front row just behind the goal post? You can really get carried away in the spirit of the atmosphere in a crowd that big, even if you have no idea what is going on. I mean who doesn't get excited over large cups of cold beer and nachos from a plastic football waving team flags and a large claw on their hand? And yes, the Browns won 51-46!!
Other than the football, Cleveland doesn't have a lot to offer to a tourist on a Sunday.... We were going to go into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but for the price they wanted and not allowed to take photos we gave it a miss (who's that fanatical Browns supporter in front of it though?)
